Taxi
The most common method of travel in Bangkok is probably by metered taxi. Most taxis are air conditioned and their prices start at about 35 baht for the first 2 or 3 kilometers, and from 5 to 10 baht per kilometer after that. Not all taxi drivers speak English, but communication is not too difficult especially if you want to go to any well known destination.

Buses
Many people use the bus system everyday in Bangkok. They are cheaper than taxis and many Thai students and workers commute using the bus system. The average cost for a non air conditioned bus is about 10 baht

Tuk-Tuk

These are three wheeled engine driven taxis. They are a little slower than a regular taxi but are very efficient in traffic. Since they have a roof but have open sides they are a good way to experience the everyday sights, sounds and smells of Bangkok. The operators charge anywhere from 20 to 100 baht depending on the distance.

Skytrain

The BTS has stations in major commercial areas. An udeak trabsport above the traffic from 6 a.m. to midnight. Fare starts from 15 to 40 baht. This is the fastest way to travel within the Bangkok city limits since it operates for the most part above the regular congested traffic. Many Bangkok commuters use the skytrain.

Motorcycle taxi
In recent years a new form of taxi has emerged here in Bangkok. Motorcycles are very efficient at negotiating the rush hour traffic but are somewhat riskier than other forms of transportation. All fares are negotiated but are usually comparable to Tuk -Tuk prices. Unique to Thailand, motorcycle taxi provide faster, albeit riskier, answers during traffic jams. Drivers wear colorful vests. Fares structures are similar to that of the tuk-tuks.

MRT
MRT operates from 05.00 am to midnight. Fares range from Bt 15.00 -39.00 Each station provides coin-operated ticket dispensers coin-operated ticket dispensers for single trips.
